Protopage is your own personal page that you can access from any computer, tablet or smartphone. You can monitor news headlines from almost any web site, even obscure ones.
Your page can be private or public. Keep bookmarks, to-do lists, sticky notes, and much more.


Adding widgets (2 of 15)
There are thousands of different widgets that you can add to your page. To see the list of available widgets, click the 'Add widgets' button at the top of the page

Reading news (3 of 15)
Use our search feature (after clicking the Add Widgets button) to add your own selection of news headlines from almost any web site. To read a news article, click the headline inside the news widget.

Arranging widgets (4 of 15)
Your widgets are arranged into columns. You can drag and drop widgets to re-arrange them by clicking and dragging the title bar. You can resize a widget by dragging the corner.

Editing widgets (5 of 15)
Some widgets have settings that you can edit. For example, a weather widget will let you choose your city by clicking 'edit'. You can remove a widget from your page by clicking the 'x' button.

Bookmarks widgets (6 of 15)
Use bookmark widgets for fast access to all of the web sites you go to most. Click the 'edit' button on a bookmarks widget to enter your favorite web site addresses.

Sticky notes and more (7 of 15)
You can add sticky notes on your page. To edit the text, simply click inside the widget and start typing. You can also add to-do lists, calendars, photos, and much more.

iPad and smartphones (8 of 15)
We've developed a special version of Protopage for the iPad and smartphones that makes it easy to access the news widgets on your Protopage. After you've registered your page, access protopage.com/mobile from your iPad or smartphone.

Working with tabs (9 of 15)
You can organize your widgets under different tabs. To add a tab, click 'New tab'. To rename the currently selected tab, simply click it and start typing. Drag tabs to re-order them.

If you want to move a widget to a different tab, simply drag it to the new tab.

Tab options (11 of 15)
Click the menu icon on the currently selected tab to see options. You can make your tabs different colors, change the way widgets are arranged within the tab, or delete the tab.

Private / Public sharing (12 of 15)
Click the double arrow on the far right of your page to see the advanced 'category' view, which will let you organize your tabs into categories. You can then decide whether each category is private, public, or shared only to people that know a "view only" or "view and edit" password.

Colors and settings (13 of 15)
Click the 'Colors/Settings' button to customize your page with your own choice of colors and wallpaper.

Quick searches (14 of 15)
Use the search bar to quickly search hundreds of popular search engines.
